Aged for 5 years, the Leon Riserva is the “essence” of Barolo. The extra years of ageing guarantees a greater smoothness and intense, rich bouquet. Exceptionally refined, this wine has a strong tannin profile and is at its best after 15-20 years. With a dark cherry and tarry nose, this wine is best known for its mature palate.
The Leon Riserva won a gold medal from Decanter, along with 93 points from the Wine Spectator in 2011. From the previous years, this wine has seen high scores and reviews to maintain its reputation.
