The Sagrantino has a spicy bouquet with notes of cinnamon, red fruit, and cherries. It has an intense ruby red color with hues of garnet. After being aged in the bottle, there are also notes of prune. The Sagrantino is full with a lot of tannins. There is a bitterness to it, as well. It is a wine that evolves well in the bottle and can mature for up to 10 years.
The Sagrantino has scored 91 points in the Wine Spectator and 93 points in 2017 5 Stars Wine book.
